Did You Know?

  • Only seven faculty members taught courses in the arts and sciences in 1866 when the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky admitted its first students.
  • The College of Arts and Sciences was formally established on April 14, 1908.
  • Today, the College of Arts and Sciences is comprised of:
    • 18 departments
    • 14 interdisciplinary programs
    • 26 majors, 34 minors
  • A&S is home to more than 5,800 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 400 faculty members.
