This year’s speakers engage Plato, the Persian poets and the Song of Songs while graduate participants and attendees are invited to broaden the conversation across cultures and traditions. The aim is to place thought and expression into conversation — to rediscover how love, longing and the divine have shaped human understanding.

 

All are warmly encouraged to attend, join the discussion, and participate in the open mic. The open mic takes place on Friday, Feb. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m..Performances of 5 to 15 minutes are welcome in music, song, dance, poetry, spoken word, dramatic reading or other creative forms. The goal is to place performance and thought into dialogue to let eros speak not only through argument but through art. Advance notice is welcome but not required; performers may simply show up and share their work. As a small gesture of appreciation, gift cards will be awarded to the top three performers.
